Some we’d already done, some we’d heard of and some, like tip number one, we’d never thought of.
- The Content Marketers to Watch in 2012
This in depth list from Toby Murdock (@tobymurdock) via The Content Marketer is a who’s who of content marketing and contains some familiar faces such as Rand Fishkin, Brian Clark and Joe Pullizzi. The best part of this well researched list is that there is a plethora of names we’d never heard of and whose Twitter accounts we soon followed.

Anyone with anything to do with copywriting or marketing will have heard of Ogilvy. However, we’d never really considered what made them so well known and respected. A browse around Ogilvy Action’s case studies soon clarified why the company has such a prestigious status… their marketing is inspirational. If you’re looking for a spark of creativity for your next marketing project check out their work, they make marketing look easy.

Subtle changes are afoot in the world of website copywriting and Neil Wheatley (@neilwheatley) lays them out in his insightful article on Digital Copywriting Trends for 2012. The write up on how Google Plus will affect SEO copywriting is a nice overview of what all website copywriters need to be prepared for as Google Plus will likely have an impact on search results.
- Pinterest Hits 10 Million US Monthly Unique Visitors
There’s much debate about whether Pinterest will actually work for businesses in terms of driving traffic and promoting products but it’s clear that it's growing rapidly in importance. We’ve recently signed up to Pinterest and have been so impressed by the site’s design and ease of use. The fact that you have to wait to be invited to the site just shows how good the company is at marketing; most people when told they have to wait for something will want it even more. We’re dabbling in Pinterest at the moment so have a look at how we're getting on.
